The House of the Halubje Bell Ringers Clinica studio

Project description
Man has always felt powerless against nature, and the bell-ringer tradition is linked to shepherds’ struggle for survival. Zoomorphic masks with horns, bells, wooden staffs, and sheepskin were used to ward off evil spirits and invoke fertility. Their fearsome appearance, movements, and ringing through the dark forests demonstrated strength against evil spirits. The exhibition, through exhibits, explores the relationship between humans, nature, and community. The spatial design suggests circular movement, reflecting the magical significance of closing a circle, symbolizing protection by the bell ringers. Once viewed with fear, this tradition actively maintains the cultural identity of Kastav.
