Project description

The State Archives in Zadar were founded in 1624, during the reign of the Republic of Venice in Dalmatia. In honor of this significant anniversary, a commemorative book was published, detailing the Archive’s history, material, and development during the four centuries of its existence. In addition to the publication, the Archives’ existing identity was expanded on in a celebratory fashion, including new stationery, etc. A typographic approach was chosen, inspired by the handwritten materials housed in the Archives, while a minimalist mindset ensured a balance between the historic and the contemporary, allowing the materials to shine in their full glory.
