Signage System of the Archaeological complex Salona Lana Vitas Gruić, Bojan Sivački

Project description

The Salona archaeological complex is mainly dominated by ruins which, being two-dimensional, need visitor’s imagination in order to visualize the buildings that once stood there. A brand new and innovative system of signposts and interpretative billboards made of thick, toughened glass has been installed inside the complex, in no way obstructing the view of the ruins and the surroundings. The description is engraved on their back, and a drawing made according to scientific, archaeological-architectonic reconstructions gives a viewer an insight into the original appearance of the buildings that complete the ruins if seen from a specific, marked viewpoint.
