Typographic second / minute - experimental Arya typeface Denis Jakupi

Project description

The work showcases letters and symbols created over a specific period of time. The typeface Arial was used as the starting point. The process involves applying black tempera paint to a plexiglass plate, which is then placed in an upright position. The creation of the letters is documented over the course of one minute. Each development stage is named according to the elapsed time: Zero, Five, Twenty, and Sixty. Finally, the typeface is vectorized and converted into digital form. The newly created, mutated typeface, Arya, is shown detailed in a type specimen, which is the main focus of this work
