Kos Wines 2021 redesign Vanja Cuculić

For 15 years Kos wines were based, as basic design concept, on clean ‘classic’ wine labels. Basic info – winery name, variety and vintage year – are in interaction with the symbol: a playful little blackbird, that brings a charming mess into calmness and harmony of classical wine label. Blackbirds ‘steal’ particular letters out of names of varieties and by ‘moving’ them they create space for the vintage year. The 2021 redesign amplifies the original concept. This time, blackbirds intervene in typography; they drag out the letters, mess with diacritics, deform names of varieties. Their play is more sophisticated, colorful and contemporary. Just like the wines they are hopping all over.
