Segment II Ela Leko

Made of hand-printed artificial leather, the Segment II tapestry was made for the bachelor thesis and it re-examines the connection between Art Deco and contemporary art through color and modularity. In the context of design, modularity refers to the degree to which parts of a product can be reconfigured, removed or added. Modular textiles, the technique with which the tapestry is made, allows for multi-purpose use and easy transformation, and endless design possibilities based on different variations. The final idea was to make artwork for interior design that a person will be able to adapt to themselves and their space through assembling and disassembling different parts.
