Elio Noa Poljak
Project description
Elio started as an investigation of light and the issue of light-deprived depression. It is made from salvaged, laser-cut pieces of clear and mirrored plexiglass. Its corresponding manual serves as an open invitation for strengthening the community through creative empowerment. Strong daylight causes Elio to cast sharp, opaque patterns onto surfaces, whereas the night-time lamp reveals softer, diffused reflections. It defines the edges of a room while emphasizing the psychological relation between the object and the observer. Elio is not just an aid that draws light into dark corners, it is a starting point of introspection that occurs while viewing the ad infinitum flickering.
