Arc-hive: Case Studies and Life as an Object is a two-part publication that gathers texts by a number of relevant international authors in the field of bio-art with a special focus on preservation, archiving and digitilzation of biomedia practices. The two parts of this publication are treated as separate books with different typography, asymmetric layout and separated page numbering. They are designed separately on both sides of the printed publication, contain separate front covers and share the imprint in the middle. Illustration as a type of variable graphics, inspired by the artistic practices based on working with living matter, pervades and unites both parts of the publication.
