Project description

25 Encounters is a book of conversations between 50 people connected to IFFR. The invitees cover aspects of what a festival means: filmmakers, artists, journalists, activists, academics, students, cinephiles, volunteers, employees of the festival. The book reads as a retrospective, an artistic quest, an exploration on making film. Design merges these heterogenous conversations into a consistent whole, while allowing 25 different layouts to stand out in their own style. Each of the encounters was uniquely designed and illustrated to correspond with the theme, tone and story that they bring. The cover refers to the symbol of IFFR, the tiger, whose stripes intertwine with participants’ names.
