The design of the book documenting interwar architectural competitions in the city of Zagreb captures an important period in the city’s development. The rich visual documentation of the results of these competitions required a careful and easily accessible layout, one that was complimented by the supporting material which told the story of the framing of the competitions and the locations to which they responded. The page graphics utilized a simple ‘L’ shape as composition tool but also as a graphic marker, drawn from some of the archival competition documentation details. The book uses a very thin binding so as to maintain the readers interest and engagement with its accessibility.
