Vitar, hotel shaped by the wind Damir Gamulin

Project description

The design for the Hotel Vitar (Wind) was based on a transcription of the sounds of the local natural context: the wind, the waves, the local dialect, the cicadas, sea birds. The hotel signage ranges from functional (direction, location and content) to atmospheric (focusing attention on local flora and fauna). Graphics were directly derived from the name of the hotel as well as wind orientation symbols, so the wayfinding system is based on the letter V. The sounds of nature are used to visualize short stories on the hotel’s walls. In this way, a sound map of Bol is carved into the memory of the visitors, like the wind itself, while maintaining the minimalist exclusivity of the hotel.
