Zvjezdan returns home is a platformer videogame that was developed as part of the Introduction to game development class at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER). The game follows Zvjezdan, a falling star that fell from the sky and is trying to return to his constellation. He is the main source of light in each level, as well as the mouse cursor. The amount of light that Zvjezdan emits is tied to his health levels and he can absorb light from the enemies – magic candles and matchsticks. The pixelated style reminiscent of retro arcade games evokes nostalgia, while the ambiental lighting gives the game a modern, unique twist.
