Project description
On Bačvice beach, a famous tourist destination in Croatia, an amount of seaweed accumulates every year. The local environmental association Picigin Bačvice regularly cleans the beach to host outdoor activities, including Picigin, a traditional ball game played on the beach. A series of products were designed using dried seaweed and were used in the interior elements of the nearby Café Voga, and part of the profits was donated to the association. The aim of the project is to uncover the value of seaweed, a rich natural material in the region, and to involve the local population in activities that increase the use of this material, which in turn benefits both people and the environment.
