Signage system for the Student Dormitory Dr. Franjo Tuđman Valentina Mindoljević

The task in the Visual Communication and Space course was to design a signage system for the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Student Dormitory. A floor plan and in situ analysis of the space allowed the design team to identify the positions for placing signage. The space has been organized, and the numbering of blocks and rooms has been simplified due to the building’s unusual shape. The concept of the design is inspired by arranging signage panels on grids. Students are given space for personalization through messages, announcements, and photographs, thus enabling interaction and personal intervention. This interaction can help students experience the dorm more personally and feel at home.
