Paviljon Privremenog muzeja u Dotrščini David Kabalin

Project description
First prize project in the competition for the pavilion of the Temporary Museum Dotrščina. The simplest stable static system – a tripod, made out of 4 meter fir construction battens was chosen as a basic element of the pavilion. For park visitors, the overlap of verticals and diagonals of the pavilion provides a dynamic effect of constant change – the pavilion looks different from different directions and distances. “It is conceived more as an architectural sign, an architectural gesture or an exercise in minimalism than as a building firmly defining space. Yet its neutral, modular structure can easily be loaded with symbolic images of the painful and tragic history of the place” (from the article Architecture of Gesture by Lidija Butković Mićin).
