Project description

The graduate collection explores clothing artifacts, aesthetic characteristics, and dressing styles of the 1990s in Croatia. Referring to the main processes involved in memory (encoding, storage, and retrieval), a unique fashion collection is created as a form of searching for lost time and nostalgia. The goal of this collection is to successfully visualize the elements interpreted by the designer through the lens of nostalgia and, using a contemporary approach, transform them into a cohesive whole of modern fashion dressing. The work is based on finding solutions for memory and addressing the lack of recollections, which are revisited through old photographs of family gatherings. These photographs serve as a source of inspiration for extracting clothing elements, patterns, and accessories.
