Designing in Coexistence Niko Mihaljević

Project description
The book Designing in Coexistence – Reflections on Systemic Change resulted from Croatia’s pavilion at the 2023 Venice Biennale, part of the project Same as it Ever Was. The book is small and comfortable in size, printed entirely in brown monochrome on cheap paper. It is modest in production, emphasizing simplicity and sustainability in design. Unpretentiously designed pages with running text are interspersed with a series of landscape photographs depicting a group of cows spending an ordinary day in Lonjsko polje. These images bring a visual element of natural slowness and harmonious coexistence with the environment to the book.
