Concrete Eyck Karmen Ivančić

Project description
The idea that can be read through the design and materiality of van Eyck’s pavilion is the use of basic elements to create different environments. These elementary motifs are line and circle, and the materials are concrete blocks. Such thinking, where with the help of simple tools one can obtain complex interrelationships, was the main motivation for the creation of this typeface. Despite the minimal number of elements at its disposal, this is a variable system in which, by rotating, changing transparency and thickness, many different variants of one letter, number or symbol can be created.
