Sven Jonke

Sven Jonke studied industrial design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the School of Design at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. Together with Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljković, he is a co-founder of the artistic collective Numen / For Use, which has been active since 1998 in the fields of scenography, industrial and spatial design, and spatial installations. In the context of product design, they initially worked with companies such as Cappellini, ClassiCon, Desalto, Interlubke, Magis, MDF Italia, Moroso, and Zanotta. Since 2011, they have closely collaborated with the Croatian furniture manu-facturer Prostoria, designing a significant portion of its current collection. As a scenographer, Jonke has realized projects for Staatsballett Berlin, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Deutsche Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Cullberg Stockholm, as well as the National Theatre Maria Guerrero and Teatro Real in Madrid, among others. The collective’s installations have been exhibited in public spaces and galleries worldwide, including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, Spiral Gallery Tokyo, Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, and Palazzo Strozzi in Florence.
