Sarah Baron Brljević (b. 1988) earned a BA in Visual Communications from the School of Design in Zagreb, where she developed a passion for typography and served as a teaching assistant in the same subject. During her studies, she won several student awards, including ADC Croatia and the “Bra” award at Maribor’s Magdalena festival for her typography projects. With a DAAD scholarship, she continued her studies at Fachhochschule Potsdam, completing an MA in Interaction Design in 2011. Even before gradu-ating, she began her career as a UX designer in the production team at HERE Maps (formerly Nokia). In the years following, she gained valuable experience on the Berlin IT scene, most notably designing open-source tools for digital participation at LIQD. Her expertise in user-centered design methodologies was significantly enhanced by her four years at the consultancy USEEDS (diffferent), where, as a senior designer, she led UX research teams on projects for Coca-Cola, Consorsbank, and Germany’s Autoland. Since returning to Zagreb in 2020, Sarah has been shaping the design team at Porsche Digital Croatia. As a design lead, she supports designers in enhancing digital experiences for the renowned car brand and advocates for the designer’s role in innovative product development. She believes that a human-centered focus benefits both business and society, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of design and user research. In 2024, alongside Maša Milovac, she curated an exhibition at HDD Gallery on UX and disruptive products in Croatia.
