Cvetka Požar

CVETKA POŽAR is an art historian and curator at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with a Ph.D. in the field of design development and theory. The field of her researches is design, in particular visual communications. Recently, she has also been researching interior design and architecture. She regularly publishes articles, books, catalogues and lectures at conferences. She is the author of the exhibition and book The Century of the Poster: Slovenian Poster Design in the 20th Century (2015) and of the exhibition and book To the Polling Booths! The Poster as a Political Medium in Slovenia 1945–1999. She co-curated several exhibitions, most recently the exhibition Jože Brumen: Modernist Designer and Art Connoisseur (2021), The World Inside: Designing Modern Interiors, 1930–Today (2021), Made in: Craft – Design Narratives (2020), Art for Every Day Life: Modernist Glass Design in Slovenia (2017), BIO 50: 3, 2, 1, …TEST and BIO 50: Biennial of (Industiral) Design over Fifty Years (2014), Designing the Republic: Architecture, Design and Photography in Slovenia, 1991–2011 (2011) and Iskra: Non-Aligned Design 1946–1990 (2009). She is the co-editor of the book Architectural Epicentres: Inventing Architecture, Intervening in Reality (2008), Sustainable Alternatives in Design: It’s High Time we Start Losing Time (2009), Project Architecture: Creative Practice in the Time of Global Capitalism (2010) and On Information Design (2013), which are based on the lecture series she co-organised in MAO.
