Project description

The design of Dubravka Ugrešić’s book The Red School, created on the occasion of her exhibition in Rijeka within Dopolavore, a program implemented by the Drugo More organization as part of the project Rijeka – European Capital of Culture 2020. The color red in the title of the exhibition has ideological connotations that have been transformed into the language of design. Color as the base element of design was accepted as an imperative, so it was used almost violently for all the visual and tactile elements of the book, from the type of binding, the type of the canvas used, the colored book block and the text itself as it appears on the pages, not allowing any other character or idea to be present in the general impression and message of the book.
