The artist’s book of Sven Klobučar Mean and Unrelated, Quite Dead, connects the meticulous illustrations of the author and the hand-written double strand of narrative into a coherent thematic unit. Arranged in the form of the comic strip (although it is not that) this book links image and text in such a way as to bring out the specific narrative characteristics of the artist’s drawing on one hand and the picturesque nature of his narration on the other. Consistently designed, this book has a drawing instead of a title on the tactile surface of the cover, and the whole of the text in it, including publication details and logo of the publisher, has been either written or drawn by the artist.
