Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, 2018/2019 season NJI3
Project description
The initial point of the creative process was the institution’s architecture, which represents the main association to most of its audience. Therefore, posters were designed in a way that alludes to the sheer volume of the building and the fluid dynamics of stage space, representing a different world in itself for each premiere. Motifs used in the campaign were easily recognizable to the general public, but designed in a way that’s intriguing and peculiar when displayed in the streets. Artistic aim of the posters was a polished imitation of real objects, similar to the way in which the theater imitates life, but in an uncanny fashion that seems ‘more real than real’.
