The 57th edition of the Zagreb International Folklore Festival celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Pokuplje expedition. During this expedition, a group of ethnographic experts traveled by kayak along the Kupa River from Karlovac to Sisak, collecting invaluable materials. Among these materials are several hundred photographs taken by Vladimir Tkalčić. One standout photo features a girl and a woman, capturing a profound and silent power. The quiet yet unwavering presence between these two generational archetypes speaks volumes from 1923, conveying a timeless message.
