The design of the book Contributions to the Hypermapping of Diocletian’s Palace: Layered Space and Conceptions of Place is the result of striving for a balance between a suggestive visual expression and the restraint typical of classic academic publications by the Institute of Art History. Throughout its layout, the book enables readers to follow and understand layered interpretations of the place, explored in essays by Damir Gamulin, Leslie Lok, Ana Šverko and Saša Živković. It offering new readings and approaches to learning from the palace itself, thereby creating key new values for its contemporary understanding.
