In search of the lost freedom from culturally imposed identities, fashion uses fetish as a magical medium in which the body can freely enjoy its desired choice. To identify with it means to feel ritually liberated. If the power of the fetish can be evoked at all by the relation of dominance over someone or something, even if it was a semblance of control, then its importance is certainly confirmed in the process during which the story is disguised as an object. A fetish can be used as a tool of self-knowledge and a self-sufficient spectacle. If freedom is not realized as a permanent state, then it is experienced in the performative event of the search for it.
