Project description

Design of an electric bicycle for a CNC milling company, a small-batch product to fill the idle time of the machines. The design of the bicycle itself started much more freely, the classic methods of production by hydroforming of metal, lamination of composites, have some of their own laws that effects the form. With multi-axis milling, there are no counter-angles, moulds, joining many elements and forms can be more connected and in fact the only limitations are the thickness of the milling cutter and the later method of joining the parts. Although this is not the technology used to traditionally produce bicycles, the client has the opportunity to offer a premium product, which is low-weight, highly solid and waste-free.
