Project description

The book is divided into three sections which contain three different philosophical statements about graphic design which were made in different historic periods. The first part contains Jan Tschichold’s texts, the second part consists of E. Ruder’s, W. Waingart’s, and R. Kinross’s texts while the last part is based on text from Emigre magazine. The content of each section is followed by a specific graphic treatment. Typography, layout, and graphic elements were treated in accordance with the content of the texts and the historical moment in which the texts were written. The book is somewhat of an overview of historical typographic philosophies and ways of thinking which are still used today.
