Project description
Vilina is a typeface developed for the purpose of a short novel by the author Marko Malović. The novel was based on the old Slavic myth about the brothers Čeh, Leh and Meh, and follows the story of the journey of a character called Vilin, the son of Vilina, after whom the typeface is named. Some of the characters in the novel are fairies who write in their alternative script instead of Latin, which this typeface embodies. It was modeled on one of the theories of the origin of the Glagolitic script, and for the construction of the letters it borrows the grid of the Glagolitic script. The Latin version is named Vilina Latina and was created based on the design of the fairy script (Vilina Vilinica).
