The city is dead. Long live the city! – Horrors of the Homeland Flomaster
A book consisting of critical texts, group discussion transcripts and the catalogue of the contemporary art exhibition by artists born or living in Dubrovnik, i.e. the city rapidly changing and socially dissolving due to the excessive influx of tourists, reckless, unpremeditated growth of leisure industry.
Playing with the funeral iconography, book is designed as a eulogy for the city and a post-mortem catalogue for the exhibition of art addressing these issues. Black linen on a hardcover, word play in large type on front and back cover or black frames on all spreads resembling locally traditional obituary notices are all visual quotations supporting this narrative.
